Job Description

Westcon Security UK is looking for a new Channel Manager / Vendor Manager to manage his Palo Alto Networks aligned sales team. You will provide Palo Alto Networks product management & sales engagement to our resellers. You will need to understand vendor strategy & goals. You will be key in developing aligned strategies for the benefit of Westcon-Comstor. You will participate in the execution of sales and marketing plans UK wide in collaboration with our EMEA team.

This vacancy is pivotal to the development of Palo Alto Networks within our Westcon Security Practice and drive additional activities to support our Resellers / Partners. This is a UK based role and travel will be required. You will need to spend at least one day in our office in Slough. Palo Alto Networks t is an important vendor among other Vendors like F5, CheckPoint, and Blue Coat within Westcon Security with significant growth forecast.

About the role

The aim of the role is to own and grow the relationship with Palo Alto Networks on behalf of Westcon Security including the management of our dedicated team that support sales of Palo Alto Networks into our Partner accounts.
You'll meet/exceed revenue and margin targets for products and services for new and renewal business for Palo Alto Networks lines. You'll articulate Westcon's overall strategic objectives and how Checkpoint can benefit from that approach in the context of their own product, solution and market focus.
You'll maximise opportunity for fulfilment business (i.e. switch/move business through Westcon-Comstor). You'll negotiate favourable commercial terms with Palo Alto Networks.
You'll own all reporting on Palo Alto Networks including forecast and monthly predictions with accurate and timely information on lead management, initiatives/programs, pipeline and key deals.

About you

For this role, you will need to have already been in a similar role in the channel where you successfully managed a security vendor preferably in a T1 Distributor. We are looking for a strong business leader and someone who can lead from the front. You will need an appetite to succeed and lead a dedicated sales team.
Desired skills include:
Proven experience in business development or channel sales working for a Vendor, Reseller or Distributor
Mature, credible, highly professional, and comfortable in dealing with individuals at senior levels
Energy, drive and ambition to achieve business targets
Excellent communication skills including management exec level presentation
Understanding of the Security Distribution Landscape
Good knowledge of the IT industry
Experience working with security vendors
Good understanding of channels direct and indirect
