Job Description

Westcon-Comstor is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to act as Requirements lead for the rollout and maintenance of a new workflow tool Freshdesk and other regional projects.

The Technical Business Analyst, (BA), will be responsible for owning the overall design of assigned technical projects as well as recommending best practices for solutions based on business needs. This role as a Technical Business Analyst will require strategic design and mapping of business requirements and solutions to system/technical requirements. The Technical Business Analyst will also be responsible for writing technical specifications (for custom development, system integration, etc.) based on interactions directly with the business and a third-party professional services team. The Technical Business Analyst will also be responsible for making hands-on configuration changes to the workflow tool.

The Technical Business Analyst is expected to have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify, document, and recommend solutions to complex business problems with accuracy. The candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will have the ability to build strong working relationships with business and technical teams.

This role can be based at one of our offices: Cirencester or Bracknell

You need to be prepared to travel in the EMEA as and when required (10%)

Key Responsibilities

* Partner with suppliers to lead solution discovery sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit business and functional requirements.
* Take ownership for business and functional requirements from creation through solution delivery.
* Analyze current-state business processes and recommend future-state improved business processes.
* Serve as the point of contact during Design and Development, working through data and design questions/issues as they arise.
* Partner with Implementation Lead and provide input regarding risks, schedule, scope, and cost tradeoffs
* Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in regard to all functions/modules of the workflow tool
* Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and create/manage execution of test plans
* Communicate business needs to the technical implementation team and simplify/communicate complex technical information for the business stakeholders.
* Translate business requirements into System Specifications and assist with QAT and Integration Testing.
* Support the change management process through impact analysis and cost/benefit analysis.
* Play a key role in the Change Management Process.
* Support the team with articulating data requirements and data quality standards.
* Shares similar mentality as existing team members toward customer satisfaction and success
* Oversees, and has accountability for the successful completion of all aspects of assigned project work
* Perform hands-on configuration changes to the workflow tool to support evolving business needs

Preferable experience:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* significant experience as a Technical Business Analyst
* experience working with Web-based applications
* Experience working with or building SOAP and/or RESTful APIs or web services
* Strong experience with testing tools
* Experience with workflow or reporting tools, Freshdesk preferred
* Experience with SAAS, preferred
* Experience in a retail environment, B2B preferred
* Experience with highly integrated systems preferred
* Experience with SAP a plus
* B.S. degree in Computer Science, engineering, MIS or equivalent
