Job Description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will generate new business opportunities by following proven processes to prospect into business accounts. You'll learn how to identify and research lists of companies to target, and how to develop email and telephone campaigns to generate new business opportunities for our Unified Communication & Collaboration technologies.

The SDR will conduct high-level conversations with senior executives about their business and their operations. The successful candidate will be a strongly self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical and tenacious, and can effectively interact with a team. This position has advancement potential within the sales organization.

* Cold call target accounts to set up appointments for the Account Managers
* Send email sequences to target accounts to prompt a call back
* Research target accounts prior to cold calling
* Gain thorough understanding of customer business and strategic plans as they relate to Westcon products and services
* Learn and execute proven processes to generate new sales opportunities
* Strategize with top-producing account managers
* Orchestrate discussions with senior execs around their business needs
* Engage executives in targeted prospect accounts

Required Qualifications: (e.g., education, skills, abilities, knowledge)
* 1+ year inside sales experience, cold-calling, and establishing leads
* Knowledge of telecom/IT industry preferred but not required
* Familiarity with principles of promoting and demonstrating products and services.
* Strong presentation skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with the internet and Microsoft office suite
* experience a plus
