Job Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Assumes role as Mid-Market Account Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The Mid Market Account Manager's role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assumes responsibility for researching and developing sales strategies for assigned products and services
-Researches and develops potential customer lists and prospects for new business and accounts for assigned products.
-Conducts market research to determine customer needs and potential matches to specific products.
-Develop new business with existing clients and identify opportunities to increase existing accounts to meet sales quotas.
-Collaborate with the team to identify and grow opportunities within territory.
-Develops and delivers professional sales presentations for resellers and end users.
-Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
-Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts.
-Overseeing customer account management, including negotiating and closing deals to maximize profit.
-Meets and tracks established sales quotas and revenue goals.
-Management of GP Margin and factors related therein.
-Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly, quarterly sales and annual results and forecasts).
-Prepare forecasts & any related reports on account status as requested.
-Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
-Provides market information to management for sales budget development and strategic plans.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining productive relations with vendor, clients, customers, and internal and external sales contacts
-Ensures the successful delivery of products and services within established timeframes. Works to exceed customer expectations.
-Ensures that customers, third parties, and business alliances are well informed through continual feedback and communication.
-Ensures that requests and problems are promptly tracked and resolved.
-Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the company. Ensures that the company's professional reputation is maintained.
-Ensures that the company's high levels of service are maintained.
-Ensures that all requirements for set target achievements are fulfilled.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination and working relations with Company personnel and management
-Coordinates delivery of products and services with logistics, operations and all other related personnel.
-Assists company and division as required.
-Keeps management well informed of activities and significant problems.

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
-Stays informed of developments and changes in the industry and the market.
-Attends related training as required.
-Completes certification training as required.
-Completes special projects as assigned.
-Any reasonable and lawful instruction related to work and given by an authorized person.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience
-Minimum of 3 years previous IT mid-market account management experience, preferably in IT distribution.
-Proven sales track record.

Required Knowledge
-Knowledge of customer service and support processes.
-Understanding of product positioning & competitive conditions.
-Strong knowledge and understanding of sales & marketing strategies, techniques and principles.

Education & Certification
-Vendor related certification a must.
-Relevant degree /diploma in sales, marketing, business studies is advantageous.

Operating Environment
-Busy Sales Office.
-Valid driver's license & own vehicle is essential for customer visits.

Skills and Abilities
-Excellent sales ability including opening and closing deals.
-Well organized and attentive to detail.
-Strong planning skills.
-Excellent oral, written, presentation and negotiation skills - cross culturally.
-Able to analyze and problem solve.
-Have sufficient technical knowledge of the industry.
-Commercial business acumen.
-Administratively competent.
