IBDM - Inside Business Development Manager:

Position Summary:

In this role, you will be a Ciena information trusted advisor and will focus on generating new business revenues as well as help protect and grow market share/revenues through the identification and development of new reseller business opportunities involving both service provider and enterprise business end customers. This position will be viewed as both an inside and customer-facing Ciena specialist role. Through the effective leadership of multi-disciplined account teams and outside reseller base this resource will ensure the Ciena brand is top of mind.


* Cold calling to a specific target, educating the internal and external customers on Ciena Corp, uncovering a potential opportunity, scheduling a meeting/WebEx and passing this over to the appropriate team to continue with the sales process.
* Provide quality service to Westcon's internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding Ciena values always
* Work closely with the internal team members and Business Development Managers (BDM's) to ensure high reseller and customer satisfaction
* Drive new opportunities for all Ciena products, by developing, identifying, and securing all relevant resell opportunities
* Partner effectively with the inside and BDM's to drive territory coverage and maintain positive relationships with resellers
* Communicate Ciena / Westcon value proposition through phone calls, webinars and face to face meetings with potential resellers and Westcon core personnel
* Utilize Ciena Marketing Tools to drive sales process and maximize communication
* Attend and complete technology and sales training, and/or trade shows as required

Desired Skills and Experience:

* 1 - 5+ years' experience in the IT industry is recommended
* 4 Year Degree in Business or Technical areas
* Experience working in a VAR or distribution channel experience desired
* Knowledge of marketing procedures, computer product technology (hardware, software, and networks) and sales cycles is required
* Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
* Knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
