Job Description

Westcon-Comstor is looking to recruit a new Architectural Lead - Datacenter Solutions who will proactively grow Comstor Datacenter business selling Cisco technology. You will own the UK Datacenter GTM strategy. You will be responsible for Comstor UK DC number. You will lead and support wining new customer accounts at Senior Management / Executive levels to influence business decisions related to the selling of Cisco Datacenter products. You will drive Comstor to be number one DC distributor in the UK. This role is based in our Comstor office in Cirencester. This is an external role, ideally you are based in the South East or South West of England (M4 corridor).


* Own and deploy DC GTM Business Plan
* Proactively drive Cisco Datacenter Business to increase revenue and market share both within existing & new customer base
* Identify and Segment partners aligned to the plan
* Create Partner DC business plans
* Promote and execute Comstor LEAP Program (DC GTM) of partner enablement to support partner business plan and increase revenue
* Acquire in depth knowledge of Cisco Datacenter products (via online training resources and Product Management team)
* Work with customers and Comstor Account Managers to identify new opportunities for Cisco Datacenter portfolio including UCS
* Ensure capability of Comstor geographic BDMs around DC
* Lead virtual team of DC focused sales, product and technical resource to execute against the Architectural Business Plan
* Educate Reseller sales resources with a view to enabling them to sell Datacenter networking products, particularly focusing on selling Cisco UCS servers versus competitive servers.
* Vendor Peering with Cisco through Business Unit, Commercial and Distribution teams
* X-Architecture alignment or complementary vendors within portfolio
* Continue education of internal sales team to ensure self sufficiency on the various Cisco programmes and tools with regard to Datacenter.
* Establish productive relationship with local Cisco Datacenter Team that produces consistent referral business opportunities.
* Work with internal sales teams to identify new business opportunities over the phone in order to secure profitable new relationships
* Work with internal operations teams to ensure all customer deliverables are met
* Suggest internal initiatives and activities to drive sales and improve the way Datacenter is sold.
* Provide weekly / monthly / quarterly forecasts

Knowledge and Experience

  • Familiar with Cisco product portfolio.
  • Previous sales experience with proven ability to meet and exceed targets.
  • Adept with online tools and Microsoft Excel to intermediate level.
  • Thorough understanding of Virtualisation
  • An understanding of Private and Public Clouds
  • Experience of selling servers/storage/virtualisation (to end users preferably)
  • A good understanding of the "channel" and it's route to market
  • Ability to manage and develop relationships.
