Job Description


We require a Senior Account Manager to sell and promote the company's products to all assigned existing customer portfolio & prospective accounts. Develops & maintains productive working relationships with customers so that sales & marketing goals can be achieved.


Assumes responsibility for effective performance of area sales & marketing functions by:

• Prospecting for new accounts & seeking opportunities to increase existing accounts; Conducts regular sales calls to develop customer relationships and follow up on leads

• Negotiating product placement to ensure high volume positioning

• Tracking sales through to closing and finalizes sales contracts

• Forecasting long range accounts sales and product needs and communicates related
information regularly to management

• Tracking progress towards and achieving established quotas & sales goals

• Making sales presentations as requested

• Ensuring sales accounts are serviced in accordance with company standards and policies including quoting,processing orders, payments and delivery of goods

• Organizing reseller meetings and accompanying Company personnel and vendors to meet with customers

• Maintaining and updating own database of customers

• Keeping up to date with product developments and maintaining extensive product knowledge and certification as required

• Keeping records of all orders taken and correspondence with customers

• Preparing daily, weekly and monthly reports

Assumes responsibility for establishing & maintaining good business relations with customers & external trade contacts by:

• Ensuring customer satisfaction with products & services

• Resolving customer problems, complaints & requests promptly

• Obtaining and acting on customer feedback to improve products & services

• Promotes products and services at trade shows

• Regular customer visits

Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective working relations, communication, and coordination with Company personnel and with management:

• Sets sales goals in accordance with Company objectives Tracks progress toward goals

• Provides assistance to area personnel as needed

• Keeps management informed of area activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant problems

• Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly

• Attends meetings as required

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned:

• Completes special projects

• Completes product related certification as required

• Provides backup for other sales positions as needed

• Any reasonable and lawful instruction related to work and given by an authorized person


• Sales training / certification advantageous

• Valid driver's license & own vehicle

Required Knowledge

• Understanding of product positioning & competitive conditions

• Knowledge of sales & marketing strategies, techniques and principles

• Good knowledge of Westcon products and services and market space

Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years previous IT account management experience, preferably in IT distribution

• Proven sales track record
