About the role

The Vendor Operations Specialist (VO) is responsible for the operational and administrative aspects of our vendors. Provide operations, , administrative support, training and office back-up for the Vendor Management (VM) Team, wider Sales and Customer Service Teams to enable them to be more proactive in business development, marketing planning activities.

Your duties and Responsibilities

* Assist Vendor management with operational matters related to the Vendor
* Work closely together with the operation teams of our vendors
* Cooperate with other Westcon departments to setup and maintain Vendor related processes.
* Train Sales and Sales Operations around Vendor required processes and other requirements
* Work with the involved departments to setup system-based vendor pricing
* Being the first point of contact for escalations related to the vendor
* Define solutions where standard processes fail and train staff and follow up on implementation.

* To act in a manner which reflects the Company's Vision, Mission, Purpose and Values
* Ensure punctuality to all internal and external meetings.
* Actively participate and contribute to the Team.
* Identify and highlight process improvement opportunities.
* Strive to achieve all personal MBO's and company goals and targets.
Other duties as requested

Job specific
* Internal administration and communication of programs and updates
* Ad hoc project requirements, such as structural change management to integrate systems and processes with the vendor. This aspect of the role involves project management responsibilities, to ensure deadlines and commitments are achieved.
* Respond to all internal requests for information from Westcon-Comstor staff. These requests may be delegated by the Vendor Manager for follow up and will often involve working with our vendor contacts to gain answers. Our response standards are in line with the company's published SLA's (Service Level Agreements).
* Quarterly Review preparation
* Achieve margin goals by giving input on pricing and product setup
* Proactively review and understand the terms and conditions within the Vendor Distribution Contract and associated vendor programs.
* Attend all appropriate vendor product briefings and updates
* Create focus and ensure understanding of your product line(s) within Westcon-Comstor

Your profile

Tertiary qualification or relevant industry experience Skills and knowledge:
* Experience in IT either in a sales, purchase or product management role
* Sound understanding of channels, preferably hands-on experience
* Demonstrable understanding of IT products, however experience in networking, communications and IT security technologies would be preferred
* Self-supporting
* The ability to translate technology into business benefits
* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact at all levels of the organisation
