Job Description

The Technical Enablement Specialist will report into the Vendor Alliance Director-Westcon and will work closely and take direction from Westcon Product Managers. The role will also work with both vendors and the Tier 2 channel partners to act as a technical enablement and technical support resource to facilitate the sale of positioning of core technologies from the Westcon portfolio.

Job Objectives

  • Support channel partners when working on specific projects in Proof of concepts, technical presales Security Lifecycle reviews
  • Act as technical and day-to-day liaison between Vendor and the partner
  • Collaborate with partners to "sell with" and help them establish credibility, wins and confidence to become more committed Vendor partners
  • Conduct technical enablement, whiteboard and lunch and learn sessions as driven by Product managers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with technical peers at defined Westcon vendors, partners and end-users (as necessary)
  • Accountability for the targets and objectives as set and agreed between Westcon and Vendor Group, specifically as they relate to partner enablement, partner recruitment and partner transactional metrics.
  • Maintain up to date vendor certifications for defined vendors to ensure Westcon meets its technical support obligations
  • Run technical enablement and certification sessions as required by vendors and Westcon product managers. Drive attendance to events.
  • Run technical lunch and learn and whiteboard updates as required.
  • Internal and external communication of technical programs and updates in conjunction with Westcon marketing executive

  • Program Analysis and recommendations on the basis of partner and end-user feedback

  • Understand the vendor's portfolio positioning and represent it effectively and accurately in all Westcon marketing programs and correspondence.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in Palo Alto Networks, Juniper and Checkpoint will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in a technical sales capacity in a channel environment, preferably in the IT industry.
  • Comfortable presenting.
  • Technical ability to deploy in the field POC's and technical support tools.
  • General computer literacy with Microsoft Office products.
